►In China, laboratory accreditation is centrally managed by the Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA), which operates at both national and provincial levels. The CNCA is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and implementation of laboratory accreditation across the country. At the local level, provincial governments, autonomous regions, and municipalities oversee laboratory accreditation within their jurisdictions through their respective quality and technology supervision departments, as well as entry-exit inspection and quarantine agencies. These local bodies ensure compliance and conduct inspections, with implementation carried out by regional quality inspection departments.
►CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment) accreditation is a mark of excellence, indicating that a laboratory's facilities, testing capabilities, and management systems meet internationally recognized standards. Laboratories with CNAS accreditation are equipped to provide professional, accurate, and reliable testing services that align with global best practices. This accreditation also reflects the laboratory's ability to adhere to stringent quality management systems, ensuring credibility and authority in its operations.
The CNAS certificate, issued by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, serves as official recognition that a laboratory's testing, calibration, and inspection services comply with both international norms and national standards. CNAS is the sole authoritative accreditation body in China and holds significant international standing as a member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the Asia-Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC). Through these memberships, CNAS participates in mutual recognition agreements, ensuring that its accredited laboratories are recognized globally. This enhances the credibility and acceptance of Chinese laboratories in international markets, fostering trust and collaboration across borders
